I recently launched a Kickstarter to produce a musical I cowrote!
Seven years ago, I had a crazy idea to write a parody musical based on the 80’s cartoon, Jem and the Holograms. The more I thought about it, the more appealing the idea became. I wanted a show that would capture the silly camp of the series (seriously Rio, you can’t tell it’s your girlfriend in a pink holographic wig?) but also the underlying message of diversity and acceptance. It’s taken a long time, but I eventually found the perfect songwriter. Then we found an amazing cast and crew and plan to debut the show, aptly titled TRULY OUTRAGEOUS, at the Hollywood Fringe Festival this summer and livestream the performance so anyone can see the show.
And that’s where I need help. This is my first time producing a show, and I was in a bit of sticker shock to realize how much it cost to produce a musical. So, I need to raise the funds needed to put on the show. And because we’re a fun, creative bunch, we’ve come up with some really neat Kickstarter rewards, such as cast cameos, band merch, cast recording, and more. Plus, the Kickstarter video is pretty funny too.
I would greatly appreciate it if you could check out the campaign and support it if you feel so inclined. Even throwing in a dollar would help us boost our followers and increase awareness. (Of course, for more dollars, we offer even cooler stuff.)
Show’s Over, Synergy!
